The product context changes occurring continuously over time. To able to get a stable context BOM we using baselines. This gives us a stable BOM to discuss around in project meetings.
There requires a lot of analysis and pre-work for those project meetings.
Using BOM transformer and work with a stable product using baselines is most wanted.
But when we apply baseline in BOM transformer and associate from upstream to downstream BOM and/or move parts between downstream nodes equivalent occurrence links are not created or become broken.
4. What is the use case for your organization?
Use Windchill and BOM transformer as a PLM solution to document / communicate product projects.
That is not possible today, PowerPoint and a lot of screen shots from local Creo View files is needed to have the stable product today. The use case is to speed up the process and get rid of local files ( PowerPoint ) and work in true PLM solution.
5. What business value would your suggestion represent for your organization?
User acceptance for using Windchill as a PLM solution and with user trust we can shorter project lead time and secure project quality.
