Be able to change the rules of the "As a Featured Objects list”

Be able to change the rules of the "As a Featured Objects list”

It would be useful to be able to change the 4 defined rules of the “relevant” list.

Newly integrated objects are not visible if the filter is defined to "As a Featured Objects list”

Featured Objects—Featured Objects is a view designed to restrict the number of objects displayed in the workspace. The goal is to select the objects likely to be the most interesting to you, as defined by the following rules:

◦Rule 1—Include objects initially selected for Add to Workspace or Check Out actions

◦Rule 2—Include all checked-out objects

◦Rule 3—Include all objects modified locally or in the server-side workspace

◦Rule 4—Include drawings included for selected items

Of course, it is always possible to filter, sort, pass by the tab "Updates" but it would be more efficient if the "automatic relevant" filter could follow our way of working.

Hi Nicholas,

You can do this in Windchill 11.0.  There is a new column in the Workspace called Featured Object Status that shows a star for anything that is a featured object.  You can just click in this column to manually toggle any object from Featured to Non-Featured. See the screen shot below:

Also, in 11.0 M020 a third option was added called "As a top level objects list" that filters the Workspace to only show top level objects (i.e. objects that don't have any "parents" in their relationship structure.)  See this blog post for more information: Top-level objects views in windchill workspace

Allan
