CAD Assembly Structure tab default to Merge Uses

When you look at the Structure tab for a Creo CAD assembly in Windchill, the table view is set to Separate Uses by default. Every single instance of every component, down to each fastener, appears on its own line in the table view.

By clicking Display > Merge Uses in the Viewing group, components will be grouped together on the same line in the table view. However, there is no way to set this as a default.

When looking at the top level assembly, especially for complicated models, it is useful to have Merge Uses set as the default. However, there is no way to do this. There is an SPR (2155064) from 2012, but it is set to "No plans to fix" (which makes no sense).

There should be a preference to allow Merge Uses to be the default instead of Separate Uses.

Would be great to have similar behaviour between BOM and CAD Structure.

BOM is not showing the occurrence level and merges the quantity.

Same should be true for CAD and only if needed this can be expanded

There are failure modes that occur with CAD structures with this not being an optional default setting, especially when adding FN's or Linenumbers to CAD structure uses tables.

This would create much more robustness in the CAD integrations and foster better usage of the uses page layout for CAD Designers that are working to leverage other aspects of the integration.

If you're going to allow and support that functionality, as per https://www.ptc.com/en/support/article/CS197902, then let's pull it all together, and make it efficient.

wow, a 11 year old (simple) spr still not soved.

Maybe PTC - which says in every presentation, how speedy Your development cycles could be, if You just use Windchill- should switch to their own products.

Or are they so slow, because they already did?
