Collect linked objects (documents) by a part save as

I‌n windchill very powerfull collectors are in place however when performing a part save as there is no out of the box method to copy the linked documents. In the current situation a lot of usefull info 'gets lost' when performing a save as e.g. the manufacturing view and the linked documents. When an end user is doing variant design this means he has to recreate the mbom and to recollect the linked documents.

SO the wish would be a collector to collect objects which needs to be copied as well and the ability to choose between a copy or a link to the original object.
