Consistency between products

In Pro e there is Name and Common Name values.

Where:

Name maps to PDM Link File Name

Common Name maps to PDM Link Name

In PDM Link there is File Name and Name values.

Where:

File Name is really the same as Name in Pro e

Name is really the same as Common Name in Pro e

Pro E----------------------PDM Link

Name--------------------->FileName

Common Name--------->Name

Why the lack of consistency across the products? Can't ProE/Creo be changed to FileName and Name?

Honestly.

And it appears these ideas get emailed to PTC personel directly, whether they add themselves as watchers or were assigned when this Community started.  But now it seems they have taken themselves off, or filter the emails to junk.  It seems like we are talking in a vacuum.

Another location where they do this is if you look at a mapkey in the config.pro.

This is a Summary:

1) Starting a new part:

Name = Filename = Number

Common Name = Name

2) Mapkey config.pro file:

Mapkey_Label = Name

Mapkey_Name = Description

In Creo 5.0 Name has been changed to File name

Common name is retained so that we do not confuse users especially those who do not use Windchill
