Hello,

in workflows, quite some custom roles are used, populating those roles can be quite cumbersome.

  • Either manually in the GUI
  • by loadfile

Today creating or significantly changing a context team we provide an excel sheet to the stakeholder in business asking to populate the roles with user names.

After recieving the excel we use it as template to populate with one of above methods. Typically from GUI.

Loadfile has disadvantage it will not delete only add, since we by template already populate some roles with a dummy user in order not to crash the workflow, using a loadfile will require manual rework.

The other day i was exploring the part upload by EXCEL into a context and wondered if something similar could be done for a team.

If it was possible to export a team setup to excel from action menu, the same excel could be used to upload a change again.

I think in other areas in Windchill there is a functionality called "export importable spreadsheet" that would be a good one for context teams. Since creating of this post we have edited in more than 100 contexts, changing typically 2-3 roles.

Really exiting work ..... NOT! 😉
