We are wanting to use Windchill as a whole of office data managment system.
One of the parts of this is the ability to load emails into Windchill. The advantage of this is the ability to link to other documents in the system and to allow the emails to be indexed by the search system.
Currently this is a manual process.
Idealy the capability would allow an email address to be associated with a container (Library or Project) on the container setup screen or equivelant. As a part of this setup you would be able to specify default values and where the email is stored in the container.
Windchillwould monitor the email address. When an email is recieved to the address, a document record in Windchill is automaticly created. The record would be created as per the following
Email Title -> Windchill Document Name
Email Body -> Windchill Document Description
Email Body -> Windchill Document Primary Content
Email Attachments -> Windchill Document Secondary Content
This would allow a report to be run and have a user monitor and ensure the data is taged correctly rather than having to load all items.
