For imported data, we use in Windchill a tree part structure, where only on the lowest levels are EPMs attached.
Alle the upper levels (assemblies) have no EPM, but the assembly structure is stored in the part structure.
So i.e. CreoView can display the assemblies properly and we also can create DesignContexts from anywhere in the structure.
However, what is really disturbing is, that the Design Context becomes a flat assembly. For Aircraft assemblies with >10000 parts, this is makes the assembly no longer usable.
Request: Keep the (EXISTING!) hierachical structure in windchill in the Configuration Context and DesignContext, i.e. as CATIA Component Structure.
