Currently we use the preference "Build Image Association by Default" set to No to allow users to image associate modified models to the parent model.
For example if there is a grounding strap/cable/bulk material, etc. Library components typically. They may model it in the as-installed position/shape. We also desire to have product structure match CAD in most cases and use the CAD to Product Structure compare tool for validation. With this error set it shows a yellow warning triangle that the association wasn't built.
We get about 1-2 emails/calls every week that these items have build association errors with the yellow triangle. Sadly some are from the same people each time, but I digress.
Since we have this association purposely turned off it shouldn't be throwing a warning when it isn't built.
In modelcheck there are similar errors and warnings but you're able to adjust which are errors, warnings, or ignored. Though I know the product structure compare isn't as robust as modelcheck it would be nice to have it somewhat configurable or match the preference settings.
