Drive multiple Part associations to one MCAD object during check-in from Creo Parametric

Drive multiple Part associations to one MCAD object during check-in from Creo Parametric

Current behaviour:

We are able to link one CAD Model to several Parts with owner link. In this case it's not possible to Check in data if the set up is defined to automatically generate associated BOM.

So if we want to pilot Part structure from CAD structure we need to have one CAD per Part. As we can manage one CAD for 10 or 15 Parts, it's a huge effort to manage the same number of assembly.

Expected behaviour:

In case of conflics we should have an error/warning message to invite user to select the correct Part we want to use in the BOM.

If we can have one CAD for several Part, it will be easier to collect "use cases". Change management will be improved.

Hi jvonzastrow1,

I agree we can have multi owner links in the tool ... but we cannot manage automatic creation of BOM. Our need is to have automatic generation of the BOM ... and in case of conflicts, to be able to select the Part we want to use on the BOM.

Hi @vzwaryszczuk

OK. I see. Perhaps you should look at BOM Transformation (EBOM-MBOM)  usíng MPMLink. With MAPSB you can have one EBOM with many MBOMs. It is easy to transform changes from EBOM To MBOM. But it is not fully automated. Just a idea 🙂
