I think that a user should be able to configure for which events he wants to be notified.

In ou approach,depending on your profile and the project status, you may not need to connect everyday in PDMlink but you still need to be notified of the project activity without PDMlink filling your mailbox with hundred of notifications that you won't read.


Many applications only send one email a day with a summary of all past activities and the task list for the day, I think it is a more effective approach for many user profiles.

So, what about allowing a user to set a notification attribute of its profile preferences to receive only one mail in the morning with a short resume of:

  • Tasks with overdue and short due date
  • Tasks received yesterday
  • Latest updates
  • Active discussions
  • ...
