ZIP file creation using Package and Delivery is a great tool to collaborate with suppliers. But one of the problem is that ZIP file is created in Background Method Server. Due to this we see that lot of content has to be downloaded from file servers to master servers temp folders.
If the ZIP file itself is created where file servers are located geographically (or any other better approach to minimize the huge data transfer across the network) could be really helpful.
One of the idea could be a concept similar to workers where content is downloaded to the worker from local file server and converted files are uploaded to local file server using upload to file server hook. Similar concept could help for packages as well.
If there is already a better approach available OOTB, we are interested to know.
