Enable plug-ins, settings or flags in Chromium embedded browser in Windchill Workgroup Manager

Enable plug-ins, settings or flags in Chromium embedded browser in Windchill Workgroup Manager

Following my case C15773590 and the article CS255800 I need to setup Chromium embedded browser in Windchill Workgroup Manager to open pdf with Acrobat Reader without asking where to save.
I can do it with standalone Chrome Edge and Firefox and with embedded or standalone IE (no more supported by microsoft Windows 10).
I need to substitute IE but Chromium has to have at least the same features.
Thanks

Chromium extensions (plug-ins) are also needed to implement Single Sign On with Windows 10 (Windows 10 Accounts extension). This is also annoying. Thus there are probably quite some useful extensions which provides functions which where delivered by IE out-of the box. Therefore it is quite important to get the extension functionality. The embedded chromium browser is much faster than the default but there are several limitations (fonts scaling not remembered, no font scaling via ctrl + mouse wheel, chrome extensions not possible etc.). As IE (and its Trident library) is on its way out the same functionality should be possible with the "chromium_browser" setting.

I am unable to implement SSO with the default chromium browser. This is critical since our company Creo Support Site is in SharePoint and the user has to provide credentials and verify through text message each time Creo is launched.

The chromium browser needs the same functionality as the IE browser that is being phased out.

@Phillip1 the IE browser implementation of the WWGM was using the Windows OS library modules and was therefore fully embedded with the SSO capability of the Windows OS. The Chromium Browser implementation of the WWGM are dedicated libraries which are part of the WWGM installation (completely separated from the Chromium Edge libraries - also Chromium). Thes chromium libraries get also not patched for security vulnerabilities from Microsoft. Microsoft does update only the Chromium libraries of the Chromium Edge browser. From my point of view PTC does only have the choice to implement proper funcitonality with their integrated chromium libraries (incl. patch process which is up to date) or to fall back (if possible) on the Chromium Edge functionality (as they did with IE).

@cbuchholz ,  Thank you for that information. I will surely pass it on.

Another argument to enable plugins:

If Chrome browser is used - which is the only possibility meanwhile with Creo integrated browser, the Windows Accounts Chrome extension is required when trying to authenticate via AzureAD to Windchill.

@_Marc_ ,

I am having that exact issue.
