The Customer design and build packaging equipment for pharmaceutical, consumer, nonwoven and life science products. They have more than 2.800 employees in more than 10 subsidaries world wide and have around 350 designers working with PTC's CAD and PLM products. As a consultant and implementer i support this customer.
They are using Windchill 18.104.22.168 / Workgroup Manager 22.214.171.124 / Creo Elements/Direct 20.4.2
A new CAD model is created and saved to the workspace, but not checked in. After the automatic replication job is started, this document was also available on the master file server although there were no replication rules for the object exist. This should not be the case, since these documents have no added value for the master file server. This behavior is also described in case 16536152 for the PTC Tech Support.
It should be configurable whether not checked-in objects are excluded from replication.
In environments with - Limited storage & - Limited bandwidth to remote sites & - Automated upload & - Large CAD Files and huge assemblies it the replication is occupying a lot of those rare ressources without any real need. It would not further burden the already low speed in WAN networks and thus increase the working speed
