Explore to add action ‘Add to Package’ as a toolbar action on ‘Managed Baseline’/’Related Objects'

Explore to add action ‘Add to Package’ as a toolbar action on ‘Managed Baseline’/’Related Objects'

Description (In behalf of customer):

Is it possible to populate "Initially Selected Objects" of a Package from “Baseline Objects” of an existing Baseline other than copy/paste?

Details:

Whether we could explore an option to add  an already existing action ‘Add to Package’ as a toolbar action on the ‘Managed Baseline’/’Related Objects’ table in windchill pdmlink 11.x?That would take out the need to use the copy/paste clipboard to paste the  “Baseline Objects” of an existing Baseline to the  "Initially Selected Objects" table of a Package.

FYI – On folders listing, this action is available as a toolbar action.

Steps:

  • Open \codebase\config\actions\BaselineClient-actionmodels.xml and copy the model content related with  ‘Managed Baseline’/’Related Objects’ table>’Actions’
  • Modify \codebase\config\actions\custom-actionModels.xml and paste above content. Also add line #20 action  for “Add to Package” similar with folder listing:

  • Click Customization>Tools > Reload Action(s); Then in ManagedBaseline>Related Objects>Actions, we will find “Add to Package”, which could be used to populate the baseline objects to package:

Thanks.

Best wishes!

Teresa
