The Customer design and build packaging equipment for pharmaceutical, consumer, nonwoven and life science products. They have more than 2.800 employees in more than 10 subsidaries world wide and have around 350 designers working with PTC's CAD and PLM products. As a consultant and implementer i support the customer
They are working with Windchill 188.8.131.52 / Workgroup Manager 184.108.40.206 / Creo Elements/Direct Modeling 20.4.2
The customer use the container concept extensively in CED Modeling to provide references to other machines or auxiliary assemblies or to represent special installation situations. They always load models without containers in order to achieve as short loading times as possible.
With the option "load.containers.full.mode = No" in WWGM container can be prevented from loading.
Using the "Change Load Type" to "Full" function, containers can now also be reloaded.
But when reloading, all other containers that appear in the model are also loaded. The option "load.containers.full.mode = No" is ignored.
This can result in situations with very long load times, and system crashes can be provoked by memory overflow. The customer have many assemblies that can no longer be loaded with containers by default because the data is too large.
As an improvement, the "load.containers.full.mode" parameter should also apply when reloading objects. Ideally, it should be possible to select during reloading whether containers are loaded or not. For the Model Manager this option is set as default.
- this offers the possibility to load large structures faster
- fewer system crashes due to large amounts of data - more effectiveness and faster work
