External (Dynamic) Enumerations Publishing and Translation

PTC customers use dynamic enumerations for various data within the Service Parts authoring process.

Currently the "Publish to..." capability sends only the internal value of such attributes to the Serial xml. (e.g. a PDF would include only an internal code, rather than the display value of the attribute)

Enhancement suggestion.

Provide OOTB capability to publish both "Default Language" display value and also Translations of dynamic enumerations to PDF / other Serial XML channels (those utilizing SIS worker).

Allow support for translations outside of the Windchill installed locales (e.g. through the Translation Dictionary Mechanism)

Suggested operation configuration.

Use existing publishableAttset and translateableAttset.xml files to determine which attributes are included in this mechanism

  1. publishableAttset will determine attributes requiring "Display Values" in the serial xml output.
  2. translateableAttset will trigger routing of external enumerated attributes through the "Dictionary Translation Process"

2.a. Attributes will have a paired "translateable attribute" in type manager.

2.b Attributes will utilize standard xlif translation process.

2.c Attributes will use Dictionary values in Serial XML published output. (Instead of the locale value stored on the enumeration itself)
