Filter information in Product Structure Browser (PSB) of MPMLink

Filter information in Product Structure Browser (PSB) of MPMLink

Currently there is no visual information saying that a filter is applied in PSB. We need to fly over "Current filter" to see some informations or to click on "Curent Filter" to see all of the filter.
Request is to have a sum-up of the different filters applied next to the "Find in Structure" button (cf enclosed .jpg)

Exactly our need too in PDMLink.  The active filter should be definitively visible above the table.
We work extensively with structure filters and you can never be sure which filter is active without clicking on filter selector. This is a considerable risk of error as well as user unfriendly.

@JeffZemsky

This is implemented in WC 12.0

Hi @JeffZemsky,

Thank you for the info.

We use custom serial effectivity to filters (automatically generated) to load the effective product structure.

How about such custom filters? Also covered by this improvement?

This proposal seems to have a similar idea as the mentioned improvement - at least to make the filter visible.

@Juha_Kokko  - with Windchill 12.0.0.0 we support showing OOTB config specs.  As long as your effectivity is a configured formatting for effectivity it should work fine.  With Windchill 12.0.1.0 we will add support for custom Configuration Specifications as (in case you created custom config spec).

For Windchill 12.0.0.0 we support showing if following are set in the PSB and the Product Family Matrix (other Structure components will follow).  In addition the user can make quick updates to the Config spec (first on the list only) as well as have one click access to the other filters.

  1. Config spec – shows the primary Configuration Specification (first Config spec in the listing of Config specs)
    1. Quick access to change values such as State or Effectivity Value
  2. Option Filter
  3. Spatial Filter
  4. Attribute Filter
  5. Path Filter

@JeffZemsky, looks promising.

It will be a great improvement for us that the user can see the active (primary Configuration Specification) of the filter. We use one config spec for each filter - unit effectivity with serial number.
Just one more wish 😁 - I hope the filter can be "sticky",  i.e. it does not reset all the time, while navigating, like in 11.0.

@Juha_Kokko  Starting with Windchill 11.1 F000 users can pick a saved Filter to use as a default so that every time the user will start with this, rather than the Default.

Status changed to: Delivered

With Windchill 12.0.0.0 we delivered the Current Filter toolbar in PSB.  It will show the user a simplified view of the primary Config Spec and if Attributes Filters, Spatial Filters, Option Filters and Path Filters are being applied.  Additionally it gives the user quick access to make simple changes to the primary Config Spec as well as one quick access to any of the additional filters.
