From the Advanced Search panel, set criteria "State" to displays only Object related lifecycle state

On the Advanced Search panel, the criteria "State" displays all lifecycle states of the system in the drop down list in Windchill PDMLink.

• All lifecycle states are displayed, regardless of the object types selected
• It is not possible to limit the list of lifecycle states

It will be better for user comprehension to display only the "State" related to the object selected or somehow limit the list to state used within our Business.

It actually is possible to limit what is displayed in this list by disabling states in the resource bundle.  Keep in mind that this will impact the entire system.

Regardless, this is still a good idea.  I would love for the list to only show states that are valid by object type (and maybe even context).

Good Idea, I hadn't (and PTC either) though about disable the State that I didn't use!
