In Windchill Product Analytics, it is possible to send a single request to a single supplier including all the parts provided by him.
By doing so, it is automatically sent an email to the specific supplier with in attachment a compressed folder which contains n-XML files, with n=number of parts provided by the supplier.
The problem arises when a single supplier provides several parts, such as 20 or even more. It becomes quite unsustainable for him to compile that amount of XML files (it's a big wasting of time).
(in our company, for instance, we have a supplier that provide us with 2200 parts....!!!)
In this particular cases, it would be useful to being able to generate always a single request to the single supplier, but with in attachment ONLY 1 SINGLE XML FILE containing all the list of the provided parts.
In this way, the supplier would be able to compile only 1 requests for all the parts referred to him, in a quicker way.
I have tried manually to create this sort of file and it works when uploaded in WPA.
Of course, with this approach it is possible to loose the compliance details of all the parts provided by a single supplier, but at least it turns his compilation procedure more sustainable and time-saving.
In the case of doubts about a single parts, it is always possible to send single requests for that, so it's not an issue.
If anyone else has had this problem, please give a kudo to this idea.
Thanks,
Luca
