Identify Non-Published Sub-Components in Large Assembly

Identify Non-Published Sub-Components in Large Assembly

This issue applies to companies publishing assemblies using the "Positioning Assembly" setting.  We need confidence that all lower level components have been successfully published so the image in Creo View (or Creo Parametric LightWeight Graphics Rep) represents the latest and complete information.  I need a report that outputs which components in a large assembly have NOT been published at the latest version checked in.

This idea came about from Case 10795842 where we were seeing objects in the tree structure not showing up in the graphics screen.  The Product View session must be shut down prior to publishing the object - "Sending a job to the publisher of a sub-component from WindChill can not be done while looking at the assembly in Creo View.”

Answer from PTC - "After performing the test I was able to replicate the issue that you described on the case. The reason why this is happening is because of the way the command in the background is executed. When you click on the thumbnail the first step is to "Open ProductView" and since you cannot have two authenticated sessions at the same time running (per design), then it will close the session and try to open a new one, but because there is no representation, it will send it to the publisher."
