Windchill is very powerfull to support processes and activities, However, I find that the management tools to analyse is very poor (at least as Out Of The Box functionalities).
Of course, one can always create a report with Business reporting, or Query Builders, but data must be further analyse outside the system.
Idea is to have basic lean tools available OOTB, ready to use as soon as a workflow is implemented.
Such tool could be Kanban and Cumulative Flow Diagram.
I would say that from all the work PTC is doing with lean companies such as Toyata, it is surprising that Windchill has not yet adopted such powerful management tool to understand bottleneck, trend, cycle time, lead time for knowledge work.
SRAM about 4 to 5 years ago created their own Cumulative Flow Diagram (unsure if this was done directly in windchill or from the data from Windchill).
