Indexing Creo Drawings with SolR

Indexing Creo Drawings with SolR

SolR is not able to index entirely Creo drawings (drw files) when the compression option COMPRESS_OUTPUT_FILES=YES is activated in the config.pro as described in SPR 2262752

With this option, the texts are compressed into binary data. SolR is not able to uncompress it.

Due to this issue the index search result is uncomplete (misses all the drawings having the same search text inside) and users cannot trust in results

An uncomplete search result is an unusable result!

SolR must include this "uncompress" ability

Is there a way to see if a drawing had that set?  Is it saved inside the drawing somehow?

Hi Steve,

I believe the only way is to open the drw file in a text editor and try to find out if the file is compressed or not

For Creo of course, there is no difference: Creo opens compressed and not compressed file without any difference

Perhaps PTC can answer your question with more accuracy

I had already done that but all I looked for was "COMPRESS".

In the Text Editor, search for the text string which shoudl be indexed by SolR: if you can find it, it will be indexed. Otherwise, SolR will not be able to.
