It Should be possible to Customize the Table View in the 'Collect Objects' Table.

It Should be possible to Customize the Table View in the 'Collect Objects' Table.

E.g. for Change Task Collect affected / resulting Objects some users need a Custom Table view that displays the Lifecycle State of the collected objects.

Table View cannot be customized.

Yes, specially the lifecycle state is missing! This is really annoying when collect the items for a change notice.

Is there already an information when this is introduced?

@JeffZemsky will this be introduced with WC11.1? Thank you.

@dritter-3 This will not be introduced in the Windchill 11.1 stream, however it is a candidate that we are interested in bringing in to the product.  We are looking at which release we can bring it in to.

@JeffZemsky regarding your comment "We are looking at which release we can bring it in to."

Do you have already news with which release the improvement will come? Thank you.

Any news to this feature? The lifecycle-state would be great in this view.

Yes, still hoping for Windchill 12... this "small" feature would help so many users by collecting the correct objects.

Here's a related product idea that would allow admins to push these custom views to users rather than every user having to set the view manually: Allow Admins to Set View, Search, and Home Page Settings for Users

Hello All.

The table views are not customizable in 11.2.1; but the "State" column was added.   Please see this screenshot:

Thanks

@JenniferPierron , thank you for the great news 🙂

Can you please adjust the status of the product idea accordingly? Thanks.

Regards, Daniel.

@JenniferPierron @dritter-3 this was the first step but the goal of this idea is not yet implemented. The idea was to have a customized table. Sometimes it's not enough to have only the number, name and state. There are also some other attributes necessary to identify the correct parts. The state was just an example.

For me it is hard to explain the customers that only one column was added, and the table is still not configurable. Or will that be possible in 12.0? I haven't seen anything except that the toolbar will be configurable.

@JenniferPierron was just highlighting that there has been some valuable progress.  We do plan to continue to add full support for table view configuration here in a future release.  We would not update this idea status until that is complete.

Hello All.

There is some progress in 12.0.1.   Here is a screen shot from Change Request Affected Objects; but the same is available from other Change Objects.

@JeffZemsky @JenniferPierron yes, finally. Thanks for your effort. Another small helpful step in the right direction.

@JenniferPierron and @JeffZemsky , in Jennifer's comment of 06-09-2020 07:18 AM, it was announced that in WC 11.2.1 the "State" column was added to the Collector tables. We are on WC 11.2.1.7 and I can't find the "State" column. Can you please check it and give feedback? Thanks. Greetings Daniel

@dritter-3

I checked and in a fresh server install of 11.2.1.7 and I can see state.
I verified that we have test/checks on upgraded servers; but if you are seeing an issue, I recommend that you have TS check your table view.

Thanks

Jennifer

@JenniferPierron , thank you very much for the feedback. I have checked it again and I found the column "State" in the collector of the Affected Objects. In the collector of the Resulting Objects table it is missing. Was it meant to show the column only for the Affected Objects collector?

dritter-3

@JenniferPierron, do you have any answer to my last question? We saw that the column is also missing in other collectors, like the already mentioned "resulting objects", but also in the promotion request for the "promotion objects"...

Why was it only implemented for the "affected objects" collector? Is it planned to implement it also for other collectors?

@dritter-3 State does show in the Collector in 12.0.x stream as well as the configurable table support that is also in 12.0 releases for Problem Report, Deviation/Waiver, Change Request and Change Task (Affected & Resulting).  The Image below is the Collector from the Resulting Objects table.  Promotion Request is still a roadmap item to add Configurable table view in the Collector.  I don't have an 11.2.1 image running at the moment to check.

With WC12.0.X the table views for the affected objects collector and resulting objects collector are fully customizable. Thank you very much for that.

But unfortunately the "Save View" button was not implemented as well, like it is available for other places with table views. Because of that the users cannot save their table settings, e.g. their set columns widths etc.
