Alias attributes are a great way to improve data consistency, quality and user effectivity.

But these attributes are not directly available as searchable attribute for a certain type.

This should be enhanced. With WT11 a dedicated query report needs to be created per attribute to be able to achieve this. This is administrative overhead which should be avoided.

By definition alias attributes are not persisted in the database ,their value is calculated on the fly .

Searching on alias attribute will require going through the source object and the respective links to calculate the value for each row, this will impact 

the performance .
