It should be possible to set the state of a Queueentry to failed or severe

Starting with pdmlink10 it's no longer possible to set the state of a queuentry to state failed or severe as an administrator.

This means there is no longer a way to postpone a workflowactivity in case there are some issues.

Last Friday whe had an endless loop within the OOTB code of a queueentry so the queueentry remained in state excecuting.

The proper way to handle this in the past was to set this queueentry to state failed and restart the backgroundmethodserver. In Pdmlink 10 the only way to do this is by making a database update - but it can't be done anymore in the gui where you only can reset or delete a queueentry.

I didn't want to delete the queueentry because i needed to investigate the affected workflows and the reason for the endless loop.

True that you cannot do this in the Site/Uitl/Que Mgr UI.

Workaround (more robust):

Windchill Shell> windchill wt.queue.QueueManager - brings up all needed commands to manage queues and queue entries.  Just read the choices very carefully.

Sometimes the UI quits responding but this tool still works.

note: Sometimes you have restart the Background method Server (only) in order to get queues to respond again after problems.
