Since the UI of Windchill changed in Windchill 10, the action "Search in table" is not available any more.
Instead there is the new filter function, which displays in a table view only those objects, which have the filter string in one of the displayed columns.
The old "Search in table" function allowed to do several searches on the same table, allowed to select the found objects, then search for a different string, select the next set of found objects and so on. So a user could set up a list of selected objects from several different search actions for further operations, e.g. "New promotion request".
With the new filter function this is not possible any more.
As soon as a second filter is applied to the table, a message pops up saying "If you continue, you will lose your current row selection. Continue to search in list?".
We would like very much that Windchill would keep the selection of objects, even if a user changes the filter.
This would be greatly appreciated as there is often the requirement to collect objects from one table matching different filter strings for the creation of a promotion request, or for moving, or to add them to a workspace etc...
