Move soft types under parent soft type

Move soft types under parent soft type

Need to be able to move existing soft types to make it child of another soft type. Use case can be ability to create IBAs on just some of the types but not on all types. This is easy to do with new unpopulated system (just delete and create as needed) but impossible on a system with history without data loss.

This would be so helpful.

When we started we only had a couple of engineering workflows never even thinking our mfg people wants their own workflows.  Now I have attributes I want to put on the engineering workflows but not the mfg workflows.  I have to add them to each eng wf.

Absolutely need this functionality. One of the challenges is with access control. Its easier and efficient to assign access rules at parent level and have it inherited by the child subtypes below it. When customer changes their requirements, it will be great help to restructure the Subtype structure.

Maybe a methodology to Export -> Modify XML -> Import could be one way to achieve this.

Tested this on document type and it worked.

Exported the Subtype, edited the document_2.xml and replaced the <csvtypeParent> value to the new Subtype and the schema changed.

Only issue with this is that, I had to delete the existing type resulting in data loss before importing the type under the new Parent.
