Need API to retrieve the Source and Image relationship of an ECAD Content(Derived Data) object in Windchill

Need API to retrieve the Source and Image relationship of an ECAD Content(Derived Data) object in Windchill

We are looking for an API to retrieve the related objects of an ECAD-Content(ECAD Derived) object created using "Source and Image" relationship. Currently there is no supported API to do this as confirmed by PTC.

Steps involved:

- Create a new ECAD Design in Windchill

- Select Combined ECAD Schematic and Board

-In Create Schematic page, check box the "Create Derived object"

-Select ECAD Content type

- In Create Board page, check box the "Create Derived object"

-Select ECAD Content type

The below objects are created:

- ECAD Schematic

-ECAD Board

-ECAD Content for Schematic

-ECAD Content for Board

The relationship between ECAD Content(Derived) with ECAD Schematic/ECAD Board is "Source and image" relationship as shown below

We want to programmatically fetch the related objects of ECAD Content(Derived) which has "Source and image" relationship with the ECAD Schematic/ECAD Board

Hi Tania -

What is the use-case you are trying to address? I see the steps outlined, but it would be good to know what is the end goal once you've got to the ECAD Content (Derived) associated with the ECAD Schematic/Board.

Thanks,

Mark

Hello Mark,

Thanks for your response. We want to send the derived data content(Attachments like BOM excel, pdf's) to another application. Prior to sending the content the derived data needs "set state" to "Released". Since we have these source and image related objects like "schematic" and "board" associated to the derived data, even these related objects would need to be updated to the same state as derived data object. We want to update the state of these related objects programmatically. There seems to be no supported API to achieve this. Please assist.
