One central location to edit/create views

It's frustrating to have to go to different locations to edit a table view, folder view, search view, and all of the other types of views.  If I add a new attribute to a soft type I have to remember ever location where I created a view so I can add this attribute.  I can't think of any good reason that each area/location needs to have its own view created.
