Our users have been experiencing poor performance on mornings after our Windchill system has been rebooted. After discussing the issue with PTC Tech Support, they informed me that the cause of the poor performance was that Windchill was busy populating the principle cache with a large number of organizations. They also informed me that this caching process is initiated when user activity first attempts to access that data.
We think that it would be useful to be able to define a data set to preemptively load into the principal cache automatically upon system restart so that our users do not experience this initial performance hit when they report in to work in the morning.
