It would be nice to add a new Link property within workflows and/or an activity transition type of "overdue".

Within an Assigned Activity task, you can specify a deadline and overdue properties.

It would be nice if this could also initiate a flow path within the workflow.

We have one example of sending a custom notification email after 5 days with a timer and email object. Only because the out of the box emails do not meet our needs, and there is no way to trigger on the activity internal deadline.

I could also see that after a deadline the process would kick off another path, sort of an escalation path.
You can skip on overdue, but this would assume a different path would be developed for overdue.
