When using Excel to edit Family Table it is not possible to create Instances which get a number from Windchill in Excel. Using Excel in SolidWorks to create configurations results in a renaming of all configurations to an autonumber as Name.

Now we have to create all Instances up front before using Excel to edit the Family Table. Or renaming the instances afterwards, which also can be a tedious task.
