Project Plan Filtering/Identification

Project Plan Filtering/Identification

It would be beneficial to be able to filter activities  the same as the ability to filter objects in tables.

When looking at the plan it would be nice to be able to hide completed tasks in custom views or improve filtering of activities in desired views.

This can likely be done in reporting, but if you're developing the plan mid-stream it's beneficial to have a better view of what's going on.

Activities could also be filtered by:

Status, example: which items are red

Due Date, example: show me what tasks are due in the next week.

     Resources

     Deliverables

     ....

An alternative is to grey out or somehow de-highlight completed tasks just to visually filter the completed tasks.

Try going to the Tasks table and change the view to All Plan Activities, All Plan Assignments or All Plan Deliverables. You can use these as a starting point to sort and filter the Plan items in a table form instead of the heirachal view presented in the Plan table.

You will lose the strucutre and dependencies, but it will create a focused list of tasks from the Plan.

Generally speaking, PTC has disabled all sorting and filtering of the Plan table since its intent is to represent the heiarchy and dependencies.
