Provide Ability to Print Publication Structures (Structure tab content)

Provide Ability to Print Publication Structures (Structure tab content)

Need to provide the ability to print Publication Structures, as seen in the left pane of the Structure tab, for object types that have Structure tabs.  This ability is most important for Parts Template, Service Template, and Media object types.

Statement of benefit: Enhances customers usability, productivity and efficiency in managing data required to support downstream authoring processes for all media types.

In the Product Structure Browser, there is a an action to Export the BOM structure list to PDF. I was wondering if we could expose this feature to the Publication Structure to meet your requirements.

Here is the export for the example above. The columns in the report will align with the columns displayed in the view. i.e. Adding/removing columns in the browser will add/remove the same columns from the report

Would it be sufficient if we exposed this same functionality to the Publication Structure?

Frank, feedback from my SME; It appears this would work, but hope users don't have to expand every level in the Structure tab, to allow the Export feature to display the expected data in the selected output.  This will help us determine what users may be required to do, or what IT Support could configure/customize. Also, knowing most of our objects are Custom, would be great to see if this same feature is available, since some features are only available for OOTB.

Thanks for the update Sten. I will add this to our future backlog. The current implementation does require the user to expand the entire structure, but  there is an action that can expand the entire structure with one click.,We will also look into bypassing the need to expand the tree. The report should list whatever is displayed in the Information Structure navigation tree, so custom soft type objects will also be displayed in the report.

The feature will be supported for Information Structures and Publication Structures in Windchill 11.0 M030.

Sten - Here's the action that allows users to expand the entire structure or by a specific level with a single click.
