There should be a simple way to allow reading but not save as from an individual EPM Document in Windchill and Creo.
Such a mechanism could improve at least these two areas of concern for a business in my opinion.
- Library/standard component/border proliferation whereby save as produces accidental copies of standard objects cluttering the commonspace with rubbish.
- Providing re-assurance that the geometry is incapable of being saved as a neutral file by a regular user nor copied to another format from which the data can be stolen further.
