When revising a CAD Doc, the collector should allow to include the inherited models (as a format comes with a drawing).

9 times on 10, the inherited model must be updated at the same time as the "master". If you don't go to the Related Objects tab and brows to the Referenced By section, you never know you're forgetting something very important.

Curious to know why this one was archived. Collector still won't grab other merge/inheritance parts.

My guess is the amount of votes it got and the time it has been out there.

Not enough interest from enough companies to justify the investigation into what it would take to make this change.

Sort of what Ben said.  Any ideas with less than "X" number of votes older that "Y" date were all set to 'Archived' after the last big community migration.  It was done across the board without any real analysis of the validity of the idea.  The only thing you can do now is recreate the idea and then try to get people to vote for the new one.  Of course the number of votes doesn't really mean a lot or guarantee any action on PTC's part.  The better thing to do is try to pitch your idea directly to one of the product managers at LiveWorx (or a similar event.)

Yup, no doubt it just doesn't have enough response.

I'm going to have to start a new thread to see how many folks out there are using more than one inheritance part. Maybe if I had started down this rabbit hole earlier, I would have had a good subject to present at the '20 PTC User.
