CS27407Regular Expression Constraint is not working for number attribute in Windchill

Currently this is not supported but it is a common requirement that we need to ensure propper numbering.

It is not always practical to use full autonumbering without allowing override.

Therefore the number should be validated.

Yes, there are workarounds like a Listener on create and rename or via a business rule prior release which is the easiest.

But it would be slick to have it correct right from the beginning

However, given the team’s strategic priorities and the workarounds mentioned in the idea, we are unlikely to prioritize the implementation in the next development cycles.
