Remove MBD annotations from Product Structure Browser visualization

Remove MBD annotations from Product Structure Browser visualization

Currently one can control the annotation default visibility at Creo View, but at PSB HTML5 visualization there is no way remove component level MBD visualizations to be displayed at assembly level. If one removes annotations from visualization recipe, then MBD initiative will be killed.

Product idea: provide control to HTML5 visualization at PSB which enable annotations to be removed.

Hi Mikko,

Thanks for bringing this up.  We are adding several new preferences for controlling behavior of the embedded Creo View WebGL Viewer in the Windchill 12.0.0.0 release.

We reviewed your idea and have incorporated it into this project so it should be available when Windchill 12.0.0.0 is released.  Along with model annotations it will also include:

  • Anti-aliasing for improved quality
  • Configurable Background Color
  • Lighting will be adjusted to by default match very similar to Creo View
  • Auto-spin center will be available
  • Pre-selection of geometry can be disabled

We would like feedback on if this is something you think should be set organization wide or on a user by user basis or a mixture.

I can live with organizational level settings.

Also one could benefit from setting, that enables use of CAD Assembly visualization rather than building up visualization from component visualizations, which seems to be the case here.

As an additional idea regarding this visualization window. There are cases where the top level end item/SKU  and modules below it do not contain any CAD Data. The CAD data is deeper in structure. Any possibilities to attach some visualization to top item, which is not derived from top level CAD (jpeg,  pvz from lower level). Sure we will lose some interaction, but at least we would know if product is hippo or hamster.
