Replace WTPart in WTPart structure should also replace the related Creo part in the Creo assembly.

Replace WTPart in WTPart structure should also replace the related Creo part in the Creo assembly.

Replacing a WTPart in Windchill and publishing to CAD after Check In does not work. The new Creo component is not assembled in the Creo assembly. (If the replaced part has no children it works)

Using Creo to replace the component works fine. But if you want to replace one component / part in several assemblies during mass Change and incl. mBOM it is not workable to use Creo.

The process does do this today, but unfortunately it is not a straight replace, but a delete and add.  We keep the position information for visualization, but in CAD references do need to be redone.  (Even on a pure replace that might be the case as the references might not be clean).  Two notes

1) We would like to update this to a pure replacement for CAD in the future

2) Independent of this Creo should be recognizing this  - we are going to look at this to see why this not handled better as-is

This is a basic requirement of Build to CAD. Otherwise the ECN Mass change with Build to CAD is of little or no practical use.

Additionally we should get the option of replacing using interchange assembly

@RaviM  Build to CAD is supported for Insert, Remove and Replace.  Note however that currently the Replace Action for EPM is a Delete and Add, not a true Replace.  As noted above this is a roadmap item.

I came across one more use case for Replace. When we do a replace in WTPart structure, the compare BOM action marks it as Replace action in the report. But if we do a part replace operation in CAD and build the product structure, the BOM compare report treats this as Add / Delete operation. Would be good if the Replace information was carried forward to BOM too.
