Restore old refine classification search functionality about custom ibas

Restore old refine classification search functionality about custom ibas

Case 12585563.

In 10.1 CounterPart had functionality to add custom IBA as classification attribute in the result table and in the refine search.

In 10.2 CounterPart was integrated in Windchill UI but there are many side effects.

The most important is the slowness introduced but an other issue is that search result is not filterable for custom attributes.

Nicola,

Not everyone can see the PTC case that you have open.  Can you please describe a little further this statement: "an other issue is that search result is not filterable for custom attributes".

When you do a Windchill search, if the search result table view automatically included a column for the attribute you searched for, would that help you?  Is that what you're describing?  For example, you define search criteria as CUSTOMIBA value is > 123 units, and < 456 units, would you like a column automatically added to the search results table view for the values of CUSTOMIBA for each part?

Hello Ben, I added few minutes ago the word "classification" in the object of the idea to better clarify that I'm talking about Classification Search and not General Search.

In Windchill 10.1 with CounterPart and PartsLink you could add your information in classification nodes. I added for example LifeCycle State Name, Container Name, Created Timestamp. When you searched objects automatically you had in the refine search also your attributes. Then in my case I could filter results about Container, creation date or State.

In Windchill 10.2 instead PartsLink was integrated, CounterPart dismissed, then I had to add a property to have my custom columns in the result table but I can't have these properties in the refine search, then I can see the information in the result table but I can't filter them.

In my opinion it is a regression.

Is it more clear?

Thanks
