If the Creo Parametric model has been revised, allow rules for revising the Graphics Dynamic Document (GDD) at the same time. If the Creo Parametric model is version 4.1 and a GDD is created for the first time from the model’s default representation, the GDD version is 0.0. If the Creo Parametric model is revised to 5.0, the GDD should be collected as part of that revision and the GDD version should be incremented to 1.0 without a representation from the model. Once the Creo Parametric file is updated and a new default representation is created of the updated model at version 5.1, the GDD should be incremented 1.1 with a default representation of the model’s version 5.1.
NOTE: The numerical revisions are only used as an example for this Product Idea.
In some cases, it may be important to the business to have the Creo Parametric model’s revision match the GDD revision. In this case, when revising the GDD, allow for manually setting the revision, similar to what’s allowed for when revising the Creo Parametric model.
This will simplify the behavior of the GDD creation and help indicate to the Creo Illustrate user when the GDD has been updated as a result of a modification to the Creo Parametric model.
If other businesses find value in what’s outlined in PTC Article - CS206087, continue to allow for this behavior as well.
