Can PTC include the feature to set the revision an object while performing Save-As operation?
What object type are you asking about, documents or EPMdocuments (CAD files)?
There is a huge difference in the planning and coding between the 2 while doing a SaveAs operation.
Also, EPMdocuments could be parts, assemblies or drawings and each has different need?
Some additional information on this request would be appreciated.
Our current requirement is for the WTPart and the WTDocument.
Is there any functionality to set the Revision today (outside of the save as)?
I set the revision on documents from the New Document screen when a document is created.
I have a procedure for setting the revision for new CAD files and WTparts.
I have NOT tried a SaveAs in Windchill or Creo, yet.
@BenLoosli Could you share the steps on how to set the Windchill Revision manually for new objects?
Multiple parts to accomplish this.
Set Preferences at the Organizatrion level for all users.
Add the system Version to your layout(s)
If you want to just enter the value, that is all that is needed
If you want a drop down, Select the Version attribute in the layout page and right-click for Group Attribute Properties. At the bottom is Data Utility ID, add revisionPicker for the value.
