In WC 12, we cannot create/edit a view that uses the following 2 very useful functionalities.
- "Freeze column" / "Lock column"
- "Group by this field"
Group by various fields is outstanding functionality, but currently very limited because the user should be able to scroll to the right to view more attributes while also knowing what those attributes are tied to, such as the filename and Revision. Without the ability to freeze/lock columns in the grouped state, the user cannot do this. I know it is possible because I can get it to temporarily display with both frozen columns in the grouped state but it only works on the page I define it until I refresh the page.
How to get it to temporarily display: 1st choose group by in view, then go in and freeze the column...refreshing the page it will maintain both locked column and group by until the view is actually selected),
Although I can get it to work temporarily, the documentation says that users cannot lock a column and group by an attribute simultaneously: Modifying Table Display (ptc.com)

Version History Example: group by Revision, freeze/lock column by Filename, scroll to see more attributes that pertain to version and revision changes (Check-in comments, Authorization/Change Notice Links, Modified/Created by data, etc).
This actually applies to everywhere in WC that uses locked views and Groupings, including Reports.
5. Business Value Opportunity: Reduce clicks, scrolls, find info faster and reduce user frustration. Views are used by nearly everyone in company from basic to advanced users.
