Subtypes: Do Not Cascade
The quality solution allows for subtypes for most objects, but there are multiple record types that make up the entire quality record, this then causes the possibility of a user selecting the wrong subtype for the downstream object. There should be a mechanism to link the main subtype to all of the child record subtypes, so those object default based upon the parent type.
