SOLIDWORKS SpeedPak reduces the amount of solid model geometry that is being accessed by the CPU. By reducing the amount of solid model geometry being accessed inside of the assembly file, we are reducing the number of calculations that are necessary for SOLIDWORKS to resolve the assembly. This, in turn, makes the assembly run smoother and faster.
SpeedPaks will be saved as derived configuration in SolidWorks.
Currently the Windchill Workgroup Manager for SolidWorks doesn’t have the capability to generate visualization, thumbnail in details tab and CAD part structure for SpeedPak assemblies.
SpeedPak capability should be supported by the WGM to help speed up performance of loading large SolidWorks assemblies that use SpeedPaks.
