Top Down Design support for Inventor (Publish to CAD)

The ability to drive a CAD structure from a WtPart structure is a fundamental enabler for Top Down Design.

For the Inventor community working with Windchill this function is not possible as Inventor is not a supported 'authoring application'.

How much effort would it take to implement this?

It would also be good to have Solidworks supported

A good first step would be a better failure notification. It's pretty unintuitive to give users a vague notification to go somewhere else with no hyperlink to open up the Event Manager to then finally find out that something failed. Seems like the user should get notified automatically when things fail (ex: user gets a message box saying the action failed or the Event Manager opens) or at the very least the notification at the top of Windchill could contain a hyperlink to the 'Event Manager'.
