Translation Manager: Partial Import

Translation Manager: Partial Import

We would like to be able to import a portion of the files in the translation package as a "partial import". This will allow us to bring in work that has been completed by the translator in more frequent intervals instead of waiting for the entire package to be ready.

This will also allow us a way to bring in very large manuals that may fail import in smaller chunks in an efficient manner.

This could be accomplished by simply including the ready files in the import ZIP. DO NOT want to edit the manifest or log file to make this work.

This was implemented in the 11.0 M010 release.  I believe it works as you want.  You can put a subset of the imported content in an import .zip and those files will be updated.  Then, at a later date you can include the other files.  You do not include those already imported.

A simplified example:  a translation package contains 9 documents.  You put the package in the Import folder with 5 translated documents in it.  No change to the manifest is needed.  Those 5 documents will be updated.  Then, at a later date, put the same package with the 4 remaining translated documents in it.  Again, use the original manifest.

The Help center topic here goes into a little more detail.
