User History in the Participant Administration

User History in the Participant Administration

Currently there is no possiblity to track the changes that has been made on a User in the Participant Administration. It is not possible to check the history of a user on following things:

  • Who Created the user
  • Who last modifyed the user
  • Who has add a group for which reason to a user
  • Who has removed a group for the which reason from a user
  • Who has changed the User ID
  • Who has changed the Password
  • Who has changed the Profiles of a User

As a large company we are facing the issue, that we have a huge number of administrators in Windchill who are working on several users on Access Right Requests. The admin colleagues are located over several teams on offshore and nearshore IT Locations, but although hired from external vendors. Currently we have no chance in the UI to see who modified what on the user.

As an workaround we are using the Postal Adress text field for tracking our Access Right Tickets and creation / modification date of a user. But the field is limited to 200 Characters and not all Admin are maintaining this field reliable.

On the other hand there is although no Chance to track for example who has hand out an critical Access like Site Administrator or Data Manager to another user.

How about adding what user the new user was saved as from?  There is the Save As history for objects in the system.  Why not for participants?
