Dear PTC Team,
this is a topic both for Windchill and Creo, I put it here because its also an issue when using Visualization.
The problem:
If an assembly gets its viewable made, despite being able to display all their simplified reps and combined states, it only displays ALL or NONE of the explode lines contained in one or more explode states.
This means that we cannot use combined states (via Navigate) for shop-floor assembly, because the people are confused by all those explode lines that are displayed even if the corresponding part is hidden and contained in another combined state.
We checked with our service partner INNEO, and they got the same result, with Creo 6.
The Solution would be:
Display only the explode lines of the corresponding explode state (if applicable) at a given time in the viewable.
What also matters: It seems Creo View cannot distinguish between explode lines and curves that we use for instance for optical beams. They fall into the same category when hiding/showing elements by type.
So this makes us not able to display optical beams and not display explode lines in viewables at the same time - quite annoying if you do optical sensors....
Please see the attached ASM for an example.
best regards
sven
